FERGIE MAY CFA

Fergie has over 20 years of investment experience in both the institutional public markets and private equity markets, and has spent the majority of his career in Asia (Shanghai and Hong Kong) as well as London. Dongpo Capital was founded in 2007 to invest in growth stage environmental technology companies in Asia and Europe. A growing part of the business focuses on Asian outbound capital flows, particularly into the UK, Europe and the US.

From 2013-2016, Fergie was concurrently a Partner at Aspinall Capital Partners, a growth stage private equity platform focusing on industrial technology solutions backed by highly successful first generation entrepreneur-investors in Europe, Asia and the US.

Fergie started his career as a Fund Manager at BlackRock in Taipei and London in 1999, and was seconded to Bank of China from 2003 to 2007 to help set up their Sino-American Asset Management joint venture based in Shanghai.

As an independent non-executive director, Fergie sits on a number of boards of Asian companies and is also an executive committee member of the International Technology Transfer Network in Beijing 国际技术转移协作网络. He holds a Master’s degree from Edinburgh University in Mandarin with Japanese, and is a CFA Charterholder.
